Personal Coaching
Service - This is the most common plan and suits the needs of most athletes. I have clients on this plan from New York City to California. $300 First Month then $150 per month (no minimum) includes:
- Initial consultation to discuss goals, background
etc.
- Individual Annual Training Plan
- Customized weekly plans designed around
your schedule (not a generic, prepackaged plan)
- Premium Training Peaks account with full access for uploading & logging
training as well as message boards and information
- Unlimited email communications
- Discounts of up to 50% from Xterra Wetsuits & Rudy Project
- MTC-branded Headsweats visor & Saucony performance shirt and GU Energy starter kit
- One on one personal training & technique sessions available @ $50/hour*
- Kansas City area group
training sessions - Two per month
Professional Coaching Service (Kansas City athletes only) - Want to see your coach a lot? Looking to get better results in a hurry? This is the plan for you, includes two one-on-one coaching sessions per week.
$800 First Month and $600 per month includes all the benefits listed above
plus:
- Adds two hours per week of personal training. We will work together at your pool, on your bike, during
a run or at your gym* to improve your technique and knowledge
during individual coaching sessions.
- Unlimited email & telephone access to
discuss training progress, diet considerations or other related
issues.
Premium Coaching
Service (Kansas City athletes only) - includes all the benefits listed but with up to 10 hours per week of personal training. If you are interested in this type of commitment please contact me to discuss.
Triathlon Consultant & Testing - $100/hour* (minimum 1 hour)
- Don't need a full time coach but want someone to look over your plan, provide advice or work on your swimming technique? I am available to meet you at the track, pool or wherever.
- Heart Rate & Power Zone testing for the bike. Done using a Computrainer to establish your Zones and provide you a full explaination of how hard you should be training to get maximum results while avoiding burnout and injury.

Kansas City Triathlon Training Plan - As a founding Member of the Board and official Coach for this event I am pleased to offer this plan as a great way for athletes to prepare for it. This plan incorporates heart rate zone testing and training and takes advantage of local training events and races. The plan is designed for beginner to intermediate participants with little or no background competing in triathlons. Features of the plan include:
- 8 week program March 29 - May 23 with detailed swim, bke and run workouts for every day
- Weekly training hours ranging from 5 - 12 hours
- Tri-specific weight training program
- Daily e-mails with your next workout to keep you on track
- Upload workouts from your training devices (Garmin, Suunto, Timex, Polar and more) or easily record your workouts manually
- Swim, bike and run tests built into the program to establish your different training (and racing) "zones"
- Option to add the KC Tri Beginner's Clinic
- Opportunity to get feedback & ask questions via email
- Basic online log
Bottom line: You will get to the start line on May 23rd feeling confident that you have done the things necessary to be successful (Ken will be there working on the run course!) Fee for this plan is $129. To register click here.
