Background

Ken has been doing triathlons since entering a short event in Bellingham, WA in 1992. With no athletic background and no idea what to do, it was a very humble beginning to what has become a passion in his life. Since then, through progressive, consistent training and study Ken has improved his performance. The highlights of his competitive career include:

  • Five times Ironman Canada finisher - 1994 through 2002
  • Ironman Wisconsin - 2004
  • Kona qualifier - Two trips to the World Championship - 2002 & 2006
  • Ironman PR of 10:04 (59 minute swim, 5:19 bike & 3:39 run)
  • A multitude of Half Ironmans and marathons

Ken is in his fifth year coaching Kansas City area triathletes. Ten of his athletes have successfully completed Ironman races.

Ken is constantly improving his knowledge and skills as a coach and became a USAT Level I Certified Coach in 2008.

Ken is the Head Coach of the EnduraCamps Triathlon Training series.

As a coach, employee, father, husband and athlete Ken has a busy schedule and fully understands that athletes don't have time to waste on unproductive training activities. Ken appreciates the requirements of many who are trying to balance triathlon with family, work and other commitments.
